MIU Campus / Student Support Services
We provide a range of student services that ensure our students receive all support for their physical and mental well-being when at MIU.
Student Support Services provide a range of information and specialist services to enhance your student experience at the University.
On-going support
The counselling service offers free, confidential, professional help related to any personal, emotional or mental health issues students may face.
Mentor-mentee system
All students will be assigned to a mentor. The aim is to appoint full-time academic members of staff as personal mentor to a group of students for individual guidance and help.
Health
All registered full-time students at MIU are covered under limited personal accident insurance. In the event of an emergency, the Department ensures students get the medical attention they need.
Student Council
The Student Representative Council (SRC) is run by the students, for the students. The council not only promotes interaction between the university and the student body, but is also a platform for students to voice their views and facilitate action from the campus administration on various issues, needs and concerns.
Extra-Curricular activities
Various clubs are set up as co-curricular activities for students, with the aim of enhancing personal development and wholesome learning experience. Be it sports, social responsibility, social networking or skills and competency building, students are encouraged to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Accommodation Assistance
Our Student Affairs Office provides students with advice and assistance when looking for hostel and housing, access to the student housing database, payment fees and procedures and advice on tenancy issues.
Career Services
In collaboration with our industry partners, we aim at developing graduates aligned to the specific fields to become industry specialists. We offer assistance with internship placement at partner companies and other leading local companies. Students are provided extensive support in the application process. This includes regular workshops, personal guidance, practice test and interview sessions.
