We at CALL have designed three best possible routes for achieving your dream of lifelong learning in Continuous Learning.
1.0 Continuous Learning through (APEL and RPEL)
APEL is an Accreditation of Prior Experience -Based Learning. It is defined as a systematic process that involves the identification, documentation and evaluation of learning based on prior experience. APEL is divided into two types, namely APEL for Access Purpose [(APEL (A)] and APEL for Credit Award Purpose [APEL (C)].
This programme provides an opportunity for working adults who have experience to obtain a relevant certificate Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) Scheme. This is a method of recognising any individual who can demonstrate the skills outlined in the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS) based on your previous experience and achievements.
The programme enables workers to get recognition on their skills, knowledge and experience gained through working and learning according to the level determined by the Department of Skills Development (DSD).
2.0 Continuous Leaning through Micro-Credential
Micro-credential is a type of competency-based education that is designed to enable any individual to earn recognition for skills and competencies they have learned throughout their careers and their lives. Malaysian Qualifications Agency's (MQA) Guidelines to Good Practices: Micro-credentials and ensures that all micro-credentials built and delivered to existing Malaysian education policies and the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF).
It is the first cross-sector micro-credential framework for Malaysia and has the potential to be the new industry standard for the delivery of micro-credentials — enabling interoperability between higher education, technical and vocational education and training, and professional learning opportunities.
The process of learning through short, digestible and well-planned units formed the basis of a micro-credential or digital badge. Micro-credential approach is based on microlearning principles.
