Programme Structure
For students to understand and learn more extensively about how research at the Ph.D level should be done, students will be exposed to the most important aspects of research both quantitatively and qualitatively. This Ph.D in Business program at Manipal International University is structured as follows:
PHD 801
RESEARCH PROCESS AND ACADEMIC WRITING
Students will be exposed to a deeper knowledge of the basics of research at the Ph.D. level from the aspects of philosophy, the art of thesis writing to the ethical aspects of research at the advanced postgraduate level.
PHD 802
RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY
Students will be exposed to more advanced knowledge from the aspect of quantitative and qualitative research design to the aspect of data analysis and interpretation for both research designs including mix-methods.
PHD 803
Thesis 1
Students will begin research with professional supervision starting from the aspect of problems statement to methodology and preparation for proposal defense.
PHD 804
Thesis 2
Students will be guided to complete the research successfully.
Duration:
Full time: 3-5 years
Part time: 4 - 7 years
*Study can be shortened with a credit transfer from previous university.
Admission Proposal
The expected length of the proposal is between 1000 to 2000 words. Admission proposal must contain the following information:-
- Abstract
- Research title and background
- Aim, objective and brief research problem;
- Literature Review
- Methodology
- Research timeline
- All other considerations needed to progress your research, such as resources etc.
- Conclusion
- List of references
