Students at the School of Science and Engineering (SOSE) and the School of Management and Business (SOMB), are required to create an event in order to pass MPU 3412. To successfully pertain to the required event, we choose to create a Mental Health Awareness Campaign which is related to sustainable goals. It would be a great opportunity for people who are undergoing mental health issues, and our main focus is students, employees, who have been fired, and other problems especially during this pandemic time.
During this campaign, there are a lot of opportunities that we can gain. Our team’s mainly concentrating on depression, anxiety and etc, and also our team is attempting in a manner that everyone feels encouraged. Since there’s no age barrier we also target elders. This mental health awareness campaign is planned to start on the 27 august till 18th September 2021.
This was agreed upon by the consent of all students involved and the lecturers affected. This momentous campaign about mental health would be the perfect chance to get to know what mental health illness might be related to ourselves. Furthermore, the experience that is going to be shared by the participants, influencers, mental health patients, and psychiatrists would be valuable lessons to be remembered. As the students of Manipal International University, the name of the institution will be uplifted with great honor in every mental health organization by doing these campaigns. Our projects and research strive to transform our knowledge of mental health issues and enhance the nation's mental welfare in the short and long term. We operate throughout the entire linked range of serious mental health, public mental health, happiness, and wellness through social media.
Project Objectives:
The SDGs and objectives that we have picked for our initiative are as follows:
SDG 3: Good health and well-being
SDG 3 focuses on physical and emotional well-being, access to health-care services, and living circumstances that promote health. One of the primary variables that pushes households from poverty to deprivation is a disease. The current situation is pandemic
SDG 16: Peace, justice, and strong institutions
SDG 16 is concerned with "peace, justice, and strong institutions."
The official language of one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations in 2015 is "Promote peaceful and inclusive communities for sustainable development, ensure access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels."
- Increase awareness of the importance of community mental health services and the need of include consumer and caregiver voices in a respectful manner.
- Promote and develop the capability of Malaysia's community mental health sector.
- To accomplish common mental health reform goals, build successful relationships with all stakeholders.
- Encourage innovation and the adoption of innovative ideas and initiatives focused on recovery and social inclusion.
- Create a beautiful bond with our clients through social media.
- We also provide 24 hrs service to people
Our project aims to change our understanding of mental health problems and improve the short- and long-term future of the nation's mental wellbeing. Mental health issues are becoming increasingly common, effecting people of all ages, backgrounds, genders and abilities without discrimination. While these problems are often considered 'taboo', the best way to help those who are suffering with some form of mental health issue is to be informed and aware of the problem and how it can manifest. We are conducting this Mental Health project to arm you with an array of skills and knowledge that will ensure you are better equipped to support those around you.
Here is how this project will contribute to everyone:
- Provides a better understanding of how mental illness can affect a person's life
Mental illness such as depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and psychosis can affect every aspect of a person's life – and unfortunately, this is a fact that many people are still not aware of. Through this project on mental health will give you the ability to see just how pervasive the problem can be to those who are experiencing it, and will allow you to develop a different perspective on all the ways that it can influence their lives.
- It can help to reduce the stigma of mental illness
As mentioned earlier, mental illness isn't widely talked about in many communities due to a lasting stigma that surrounds it. This stigma predominately comes from a lack of information, something that mental health awareness courses are helping to change. As more and more people choose to educate themselves with these opportunities, we will hopefully see a change in the way it is talked about in the community.
- Helps you to recognize early signs and risks of mental illness
Like most illnesses, mental health problems come with their own set of warning signs and risk factors. Understanding what this look like and how they can manifest from person to person is a huge part of ensuring that those effected can get the help they need. By becoming more aware of what symptoms and warning signs to look out for, you will be more capable of recognizing them in the people around you, allowing you to support them if need be. There are many more tips this project on Mental Health will contribute to our society. Our group is ready to help our community in providing better well being.
This mental health awareness campaign provides good lessons and teaches people, especially students, that it is okay to open up about your mental health issues to people and to seek help from people, in order to survive from these negative health issues. Throughout this event, students will be able to develop an understanding more about mental health issues, on how to communicate, how to seek help and how to help other patients who have been through these illnesses. Lastly but not least, we hope that the the management of Manipal International University will approve our mental health awareness campaign’s project.
