Higher Education Malaysia Association (HEYA) organized an event which was top notch. The event was known as Intervarsity Leadership Training Workshop (InVaLT) 2021. This event by HEYA was unquestionably parallel to their goal of "Transforming Youth to Elite". The event took place on 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th May 2021 for two consecutive weekends from as early as 9 am and up till early evening. I can legitimately say that it was a delightful experience where I was filled with gratitude to participate with hundreds of young leaders from universities all over Malaysia.
The opportunity given to engage with hundreds of young leaders from innumerable educational backgrounds and committees made all of us and myself personally to gain wonderful and exceptional moments. We were exposed to many leaders from several professional backgrounds to pledge their insights on the industrial changes especially in Malaysia during this 21st century where working smart and being prepared for the new revolution of industries is highly crucial. Plus, there were also several distinguished speakers who gave speeches about their undergoing, goals and their ways of tackling their issues as well as answering the questions made by the fellow participants.
Moreover, the participants were divided into several teams and we were given several case studies and tasks to crack the problems and find as many as solutions which can be implemented for the long-term. In this way, we were proficient enough to assimilate so much from the provided frameworks of breaking down a problem and the way of tackling them, great ideas from fellow participants and even made tonnes of delightful moments more than we could ever imagine during the sharing sessions. On top of that, we were also been assigned as interns for Feynman & Wesley Corporation which aid us to build our leadership skills and witness the beginning of fellow future leaders.
During the last day of the event, each team was also asked to present their ideas and solutions of the case studies delegated to them and the three winning teams were chosen, followed by the best team, as well as the best male and female participant. I was glad that my team won first place with a grand prize cash. In addition to all of that, in future endeavours there will also be several other benefits provided for all of the participants as the alumni of the InVaLT 2021 such as enjoying the prioritised opportunities to join the latest events or trainings organized by HEYA and as well being able to explore the networking opportunities with Subject Matter Experts from the different industries, corporates or organizations. Apart from the learning sessions, winning and not winning, I can assure that we also enjoyed ourselves in the event as a whole where we cracked jokes, talked and learned more about our team members and that was the most engaging part we all had.
In a nutshell, I really relished the entire experience and am looking forward to future events by HEYA. A message I would like to deliver here is that one should not be afraid to take a step forward in trying new things and being prepared with the fast-changing world. With these positive mind-sets, you too can be a leader.
