Students of MIU recently organized Chemilution with Dr Zanuldin, Dr Murthy, Dr Singhania, and Dr Soundarajan as the Guests of Honour. Kicking off with a talk by Dr Zanuldin, the event then saw the judges’ evaluation of experiments presented by our students.

The presentation of experiments, dubbed the X-Sci Challenge, consisted of experiments presented by 8 groups which were experiments in Biodiesel, Water Treatment, Wine Preparation, Chem eCar, Synthetic Detergent, Azo Dye Preparation, Penicillin, and Chloralkali.

Following a short break, the X-Chemorace then took place. Pacing themselves across a total of six stations throughout the campus, students took up the challenge of completing the task at each station in order to gain a molecules which were to be combined at the end of the race in order to identify and name the isomers found within the molecule.

For the X-Sci Challenge, the winners were Praimon, Meerthana, Hazim, Vanessa, and Nanthiya while Siti Mariam, Tevyashini, Tivyadharshini, and Mishalny came in second place and Thanaseelan, Gobikrishna, Sailuja, Yuweta, and Mohaan were placed third.

For the X-Chemorace, Team Brenda came in first while Team Kershana and Team Nanthini came in second and third respectively.
